Allen Border-Gavaskar Trophy (1996)
Indian cricket legend Sunil Manohar Gavaskar
Born on Mumbai July 10, 1949. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler.
Gavaskar achieved an impressive score of 166 not out against Australia in Adelaide in December 1985.
His Test career commenced in 1971, with his debut match against the West Indies in Port of Spain.
Gavaskar played his final Test match against Pakistan in 1987, scoring 96 runs in the second innings.
Over the course of his career, Gavaskar participated in 125 Test matches, accumulating a total of 10,122 runs.
He recorded his highest score of 236 not out against the West Indies in Chennai in 1983.
Throughout his career, Gavaskar scored a remarkable 34 centuries.
His Test batting average stood at an impressive 51.12.
In Test matches, Gavaskar hit 26 sixes.
Allan Robert Border: Legendary Australian Cricketer
Born on July 27, 1955, in Sydney, Allan Border was a left-handed batsman known for his slow left-arm orthodox bowling.
- He made his Test debut in 1978 against England and played his final Test match against South Africa in Durban in 1994.
2. Throughout his illustrious career,Border participated in 156 Test matches, remaining not out on 44 occasions.
3. He amassed a total of 11,174 runs across 256 innings, with a highest score of 205 runs.
4. His batting average stands at an impressive 50.56, complemented by 27 Test centuries and 63 half-centuries.
